Day 70-71 Pacifica to Santa Cruz - まやたろの体当たり日記　Wanderlust

Tanishaと子供達が見送ってくれた。かわいい。

道の途中にあったSanton Berry farmがすごくよかった。

Santon Berry farm was great.
It said they are the oldest organic strawberry farm in California.
They had an unique honor payment system, and cyclists discount.

The oldest strawberry farm in CA. Everything is organic, and paid by the honor system. Strawberry lemonade and curry was yummy! They are nice to have cyclist discount.カリフォルニアで最も歴史のあるいちこ農園。すべてオーガニックでセルフサービスで支払う。イチゴレモネードとカレーおいしかった！チャリダー割引ありがたい。

Santa Cruzに着いたのは6時。
ポートランドで出会ったMarcのお姉さん、Julieとご主人のBenが出迎えてくれた。ちょうどAirbnbをはじめたところで、わたしが第一号のお客さんらしい。

I arrived in Santa Cruz at 6PM.
The last 5miles from the downtown was all the way uphill and challenging, but I finally made it to Marc's sister's house.
I met Marc in Portland, and he introduced me his sister Julie and her lovely family, who had just started their Airbnb. I was actually the first guest.

そして今回泊めてもらったのはこちらのAirstream!!
なんとMarcが全て改装したと聞いてびっくり。めっちゃカッコいい！！

I was surprised to hear that Marc actually made all of this Airstream.
It was awesome!!

Benがビールをご馳走してくれた。庭で焚き火をしながら、BenとJulieが新婚時代に小さなヨットでタイからエジプトまで旅した話をしてくれた。

Julie's husband Ben invited me to have a beer in front of the camp fire.
He told me the stories of their adventures sailing from Thailand to Egypt on a little sailboat.

子供たちがとってもかわいい。
明日はゆっくりすることにした。

Their kids were so cute.
I decided to stay one more day (again).

7/27 Wed

というわけで、今日はMontereyの水族館に行ってきた。というか長男のMiloとBenのお母さんKarenに連れていってもらった。
Karenもネイティブアメリカンの文化に造詣が深く、何度かセレモニーに参加したり、技術を学んだりしたことがあるらしい。いろんな話を聞くのが楽しかった。

I went to the Monterey aquarium with Milo and Karen. I enjoyed talking with her very much because she is found in Native American culture. She told me the stories of visiting the Pueblos and experiencing their ceremonies and learning their skills.

クラゲが美しい。。

The jellyfish were beautiful...
