San Simeon to San Luis Obispo on 07/30/2016 | CYCLING Training Log Entry | MapMyRide

朝からHearst Castleにいく予定だった。それはHearst氏という大富豪が個人的に建てたお城。とても個人宅とは思えないぐらい立派なんだそうだ。しかしキャンプ場からは逆方向。同じキャンプ場に居合わせたOlyverが一緒に行ってくれることになった。しかし着いてみるとなんと2時間待ち。ディズニーランドもびっくりの混みっぷり。残念だけど遠くから眺めて後にした。

I was planning to go to Hearst castle, which a rich man called Mr. Hearst used to built by his own. It never looks like someone's house. When we arrived, we were surprised that we had to wait for 2 hours for the tour. What a Disneyland! We unfortunately took a look from far away and left.

しばらく走ったが、なんだか朝から調子が悪く力がでない。。

I don't feel well from this morning. I need to rest.

本日泊めていただくのはwarmshowersで見つけたSan Luis Obispo（SLO）にあるコミュニティハウス。当日にも関わらず快くオッケーしてくれた。本当にありがたい。しかし到着する数マイル手前でまたスポークが折れた。南米を前にこの事態。。

I stayed at a community house in San Luis Obispo (SLO) which I found in warmshowers. I appreciate them so much to welcome me even though I called them at the last minute.

コミュニティハウスには19人が住んでいる。（あとで知ったがなんと築100年で文化財にも指定されているらしい。）自転車好きな人が多く、みんなとってもフレンドリー。スポークが折れたことを伝えると、Bike kitchenに行くといいと勧められた。住人の一人はそこで働いている。体調もイマイチなので明日は身体と自転車を整備する日にしよう。

19 people lives there, everyone is so friendly and they love bikes. (I was surprised to hear that the building was 100 years old and is one of the heritage buildings.) They recommend me to go to the Bike kitchen tomorrow. One of the roommates work there. I don't feel very well, so I'll maintenance myself and my bike tomorrow.

Bike kitchenというのは自転車整備や修理のためのありゆる工具や中古のパーツが置いてあるところで、知識豊富なスタッフが修理や整備を手伝ってくれる場所。金土日しかやっておらず、わたしが訪れたのは幸運にも日曜日。半日かけてスポークとブレーキパットを交換し、ホイールを正した。

Bike kitchen is a place where they have all the parts and tools to fix or maintenance the bike, and the knowledgeable staffs teach you how. I spent half of my day there to replace my spokes and brake pads, and true my tire.

I had a great oppurtunity to fix my bike with friendly and helpful staffs at the Bike kitchen. I'm so lucky that my spoke broke here!昨日またもやスポークが折れたのだけど、Bike kitchenというところでスタッフが手取り足取り直し方を教えてくれました。おかげで直し方も分かったし、ここで壊れてラッキー！

それから有名なBubblegum alleyというところに行ってきた。気持ち悪いけど面白い。わたしも日の丸を残してきた。

I went to the famous Bubblegum Alley. It is disgusting but fun. I left a Japanese flag.

ガムもここまでくるとアートになる、、？Bubblegum alley!! yikes!!

夜は住人の一人が最後の日ということでパーティ。ここの住人はみんなとっても料理上手。おいしそうな料理とお酒を前にして残念ながらわたしは原因不明の腹痛のおかげでほとんど食べられず。どんなにきれいな景色もおいしい食べ物も、健康な身体ありきであることを実感した。

It was the last day of one of the roommates, so there was a party. I was so sad I couldn't eat hardly any of the food or alcohol, because I somehow had a stomach ache. What a shame... I realized that healthiness is among all the beautiful scenerys or delicious food.
