Day 172-175 Villa Unión to Bella Vista
旅先でのひとつひとつの出会いがわたしの行く先を変えていく。

Ruta40でSan Juanを経由してMendozaに行く予定だったのに、何を血迷ったか100km以上遠回りの道を選んでしまった。昨日キャンプ場で出会ったアルゼンチン人の2人にRuta40は何もないからこの道がいいよと勧められた。たしかに砂漠と車しかない景色に飽きていた。
I was heading to San Juan and Mendoza via Ruta 40, but somehow took a detour for over 100km. The guys I met yesterday told me a better road. I was actually getting tired of the deserts on Ruta 40.
その遠回りの道には世界遺産に登録されている国立公園が２つある。そう言うといかにも美しくて壮大な景色を想像するだろう。わたしもそうだった。しかしその道は相変わらず砂漠だった。しかも車通りもまばら。本当に世界遺産なのか？と疑いたくなる。
I was imagining a great landscape because they are two UNESCO national parks on the route. But it turned out that it was all the deserts again. And there were hardly any traffic. I was wondering if it is really world heritage.
そして、国立公園に入るには入場料の他にガイド付きのツアーに参加しなくてはならず、ビンボーチャリダーにとってはなかなか高い（約4000円）ので結局入らなかった。来た証拠のためにとりあえず入口の写真だけ撮った。ああ。ますますなんのために遠回りしたのかわからない。
And to get in the park, you need to pay entrance fee and a guided tour (about $40) which is rather expensive for a cyclist on a low budget. I just took a picture of the entrance and left. Now I really don't know why I took this road.
さらには午後から強風が吹く中登り坂を走り、キャンプできそうなところを探していたが20km走っても見つからない。次のキャンプ場までは60kmあまり。疲れ果てたので風除けと木陰を求めて木の下に避難。道から見えるところだから暗くなってからここにそのままテントでも張ろうかな、と考えながらうとうととシエスタタイム。
Furthermore, the wind started to get strong in the afternoon, so I was looking for a place to camp, but I couldn't find anything for more than 20km. The next campsite is over 60km. I was
so tired that I pulled up my bike under a tree to get a shade from the sun and the wind, and had a siesta.
次に目を開けると目の前に車が停まっていた。しかもイケイケのお兄さんがこっちに向かって歩いてくる。や、やばい？慌てて起きる。するとイケイケのお兄さんは水とお菓子をくれた。さらに、乗るか？と聞かれる。
昨日後悔したばかりなのにまたここでも乗せてもらうのか、と一瞬ためらったが、今日は身も心も疲れ果てていたのでありがたく乗せてもらうことにした。
The next time I opened my eyes, I found a car in front of me, and a punk guy was walking towards me. Ooo... I was a bit nervous, but he handed me a bottle of water and a candy. And he offered me a ride.
I thought for a moment, because I had just regretted about cheating the day before, but I was so tired that I thankfully accepted his kind offer.
結局40km先の分岐点まで乗せてくれたイケイケのお兄さん。ありがとう！まだ21だそうで。若い。。
He drove me 40km to the crossing. Thank you so much!!
そこからはキャンプ場まで17km。風も追い風になり、暗くなる前に着くことができた。
インフォメーションセンターにはこの辺りで見つかったという恐竜の化石があった。
Only 17km to the campsite. The wind changed to a tail wind and fortunately I was able to reach the campsite before sunset.

キャンプ場に着くとチャリダーの姿が。ベルギー人のご夫婦。20年以上2人で毎年世界各地を走っていて、今回は3ヶ月かけてアルゼンチンを走っているそう。かっこいい。キューバや南アフリカの話が面白かった。
There was a couple cyclist from Belgium. They are cycling all over the world for more than 20 years, and this time In Argentina for three months. So cool!! They told me interesting stories in Cuba and South Africa.

翌日、同じ方向に向かう2人に着いて行くことにした。
昨日はあれだけ後悔していたのに今日は本当にこの道を選んでよかったと思った。アップダウンの続く道を進んだ後は20kmのダウンヒル。標高1500mから一気に800mまで下りる。傾斜もきつすぎず、ブレーキいっぱい握りしめなくても、ゆっくりーゆっくりーくだってくー♪
眺めが最高で本当に気持ちのいい道だった。
走り慣れているだけあって2人とも速い。わたしの両親と同世代とは思えない。着いて行くのに必死だったが、おかげでいいトレーニングになった。
Next day, I decided to follow the couple.
Now I was so happy that I chose this route. The 20 km downhill was
just awesome.
They are about the same age as my parents, but so fast that I was working hard to catch up. It was a good training for me.
Huacoという町に14時過ぎに着いた。
ホステルでゆっくり。他に誰もいなくて貸切だった。
ビールやワインを飲みつつ、夕飯はDerkがパスタを作ってくれた。
We arrived in a small Huaco and had a relaxing time at a hostel. No one else. It's great to share beer and wine with someone else.

Huacoを出てRodeoという湖のほとりの町へ向かう。ビューポイントまでの九十九折の道は今までの中でも急傾斜ベスト3に入るだろう。
Leaving Huaco, we headed to a town Rodeo, close to the lakes. The winding road up to the viewpoint is definitely one of the steepest hills on this trip.
San Jose de Jachal という町でお金をおろそうとする。ATMの前には長蛇の列。1時間並んだ挙句、結局おろせず。アルゼンチンでお金をおろすのは本当に大変だ。友人たちもみんな苦労していた。ペルーでもボリビアでもこんなことはなかった。いざという時のためにUSドルを持っておいたほうがいい。（しかし両替もなかなかできるところがなくて難しい）
I tried to get my cash at the ATM, so I waited in line for an hour but couldn't. It's always so hard to get cash in Argentina. It's better to take extra US dollars with you (although it's also hard to find a place to exchange too)
エンパナーダを買って公園で食べた。
We had empanadas for lunch.
そのあともアップダウンの続く川沿いの道を道を抜け、坂を登りきると。。
Lots of up and downs and wonderful tailwind blew us to our destination.
うわー！！
思わず歓声がもれた。だってこの景色だもの。宝石の道で見たLaguna Verdeよりもミドリな湖。そして背後には雪を被ったアンデスの山々。なんて美しいんだ。。
しかし写真を撮ろうとしたら自転車ごと倒されるぐらいの爆風。

What a beautiful scenery!! It's even green than Laguna Verde! And all the snow capped mountains behind!
But the wind was so hard that I fell down with my bike when I tried to take a picture....
Laguna Verdeよりもミドリな湖と風に吹き飛ばされそうなわたしMuch more verde than Laguna Verde!!
そこからRodeoの町まで数キロ走り、キャンプ場へ。柳の木がたくさんあっていいかんじ。
生ハムやチーズをあてにワインを飲む。やっぱり人と一緒っていいなってこういう時に思う。
Few miles to the town of Rodeo, and we found a nice campsite under the willow trees.
Having wine and cheese. Great night!!

今日はBella Vistaという町まで40km弱なのでゆったり。昼過ぎに着き、町に唯一あるレストランでピザを頼むと冷凍ピザみたいなのが出てきた。
Today was a rest day so only 40km to Bella Vista. We went into a restaurant and had pizza.
キャンプ場ではオーナーの人がとても親切。景色はきれいだし、静かだし、WiFiも速くてなかなかいい場所だ。シャワーは水だったけど。
The campsite was great. Nice location, helpful owner, and the wifi was fast. The showers were cold though.
お父さんがクワ一本で畑を耕していて、わたしもたまねぎを植えるのを手伝わせてもらった。肥料も入れず、オーガニックでやっているそう。
The father was plowing the farm and I helped him planting onions. All organic.
昔の道具もあちこちに置いてあった。
Many old tools.
今後のルート、San Juanに抜けるのはやめてこのまましばらく2人にお供させてもらうことにした。
アルゼンチンの2人に出会わなければ、遠回りの道を選ぶこともなく、イケイケのお兄さんが乗せてくれなかったら絶対にキャンプ場にはたどり着けなかったのでベルギーの2人とも出会うことがなかったし、彼らに会わなければわたしはこの道を走ることもなかった。つくづく出会いとタイミングは面白いものだ。
I decided to follow them for a while instead of going to San Juan.
If I didn't meet the Argentinian guys, I wouldn't have took the round trip, and if the punk guy didn't give me a ride, it was impossible for me to make it to the campsite, so I would never see the Belgium couple, and I wouldn't have took this route. All the encountering and timing is amazing.
