Day 194-195 Chiloe #1

世界遺産の島、チロエ島に向かう。
宿のおばさんが寝間着姿のまま見送ってくれた。

Heading to Chiloe island, which has world heritages.

アンヘルモ市場に寄ってエンパナーダを食べてから、5号線に乗ろうとしたらいきなり笑っちゃうぐらい急な坂なので、引き返して海岸線を走ることにした。どのみち最終的には急坂を登ることになるんだけど、海沿いの方が気持ちがいいし。5号線は平らでまっすぐでつまらん。途中で土砂降りになってきたのでバス停でカッパの用意をしてたら止んだ。まあよくあるパターンです。

I tried to take Ruta5 when I saw a super steep hill and decided to go along the coast. It started raining very strong and I stopped to take out my rain jacket than the rain stopped. 

フェリー乗り場まで60km。13時頃に着き、そのままフェリーに乗って約30分で対岸に着く。5号線はつまらないからまた海沿いを走ろうと思ったけど、いきなりぬり壁みたいなすさまじい坂（しかも砂利）が出現したので逃げました。そして5号線に戻ろうとしたら変なおじさんに捕まり、しきりに泊まっていけとかいつ帰ってくるんだとか言ってくるので逃げました。

60km to the ferry terminal, 30minutes to the other side, Chiloe island. I tried to go along the coast again but I saw a steep gravel hill (more like a wall) and I headed back.

 

5号線も相変わらずアップダウンが激しいけど、まあ舗装路だし、ギアも交換したし、宝石の道に比べたらなんだって平気です。この先の人生で宝石の道を越える経験はあるのだろうか。まあたぶんたくさんあると思うけど、何か辛いことがある度にきっと思い出すのだろう。

Many hills again but it's paved and I changed my gears and it's way better than the Laguna route.

そんなこんなでアンクーに到着。八百屋さんが安くてうれしい。魚市場でサーモンも買ったし、天気がいいのでキャンプ場へ。目の前が海という最高のロケーション。 

I arrived in Ancud. Fruits and vegetables are very cheap. I also bought salmon at the fish market. The weather turned out to be beautiful, so I decided to camp. Perfect location in front of the ocean.

同じキャンプ場にいたフランス人カップルとドイツ人女子2人組と一緒に飲む。ちなみにサーモンはめちゃくちゃおいしくて、ペロリでした。残った分は玉ねぎ、白ワイン、醤油を加えて煮て翌日のお弁当に。

Salmon was so good. I had it raw and also made a lunch box for the next day.
I met a French couple and two girls from Germany.

サーモンアボカド丼がおいしすぎる。サーモンが安かったので調子に乗って500gも買ってしまった。それでも約400円。鮭まつり！明日は鮭おにぎりじゃ。I love salmon!!

シャワーを浴びたかったけど朝の8時からしかお湯が出ないというのでガマンして寝る。

I wanted to take a shower, but they said only after 8am.

11/28 Mon

8時になったけどお湯は出ず、荷物をまとめつつだらだらしていたら9:30になってしまった。
相変わらずチロエのアップダウンは容赦ない。2時間ほど走ったところでフランス人カップルと再会。ヒッチハイクをしようとしているがなかなか捕まらないそう。お昼を一緒に食べる。

So many hills again today. After 2 hours,  I met the French couple again. They were trying to hitchhike. I had lunch together. 

その後も数時間坂に悩まされて疲れ切った頃、エンパナーダの看板に吸い込まれるようにしてたまたま入ったお店。熱々のエンパナーダには肉がゴロゴロ入っていてとてもジューシー。お店のおばさんはわたしが日本人だと知ると日本語で話してきてびっくり。そのまましばらく立ち話をしていて、わたしがフェリーに乗りたいけどスケジュールがわからなくて困っていると話すと、わたしのおねえさん日本語とても上手だから通訳してもらったらいい、と連絡先を教えてくれた。エンパナーダの包み方も教えてもらう。

After few hours going up and down again, I found a sign "Empanadas de horno" and I went into the shop. The empanadas had juicy chunk of meat inside. The woman was very nice and she could also speak a little bit of Japanese. I told her that I had trouble to check the ferry schedule, she introduced me her sister who speaks Japanese very well.

隣のダルカウエという町でいいキャンプ場を見つけ、しばらくするとおねえさんから電話。キャンプ場までお友達と一緒に来てくれて、みんなで教会の近くのカフェへ。ちなみにここの教会も世界遺産のひとつ。

I went to the next town, Dalcahue and found a nice campsite when I received a call from her sister. She came with her friends and we all went to a nice cafe by the sea. This church is also one of the world heritages.

 

アンジェ（おねえさん）は名古屋のホテルで8年間働いていたので日本語がペラペラ。一緒に来たお友達のユキちゃんは南米旅行中に今の彼と出会い、そのままここに住み着き、もうすぐ赤ちゃんが産まれるそう。結局10時ぐらいまでカフェにいて、うちに泊まりなよとアンジェが言ってくれたけど、今日は遅いしということで予定を変更して翌日泊まりに行くことに。
「アンジェのごはんおいしいよ」というユキちゃんのひと言につられた図々しいわたしです。

Ange (the sister) used to work in a Japanese hotel and that's why her Japanese was perfect. Her Japanese  friend Yuki was traveling through South America when she met a guy and decided to stay here. She is going to have a baby next month.
We stayed at the cafe until 10pm. Ange suggested me to come to her house, but it was so late so I decided to stay at the campsite. 
"Ange is a good cook" said Yuki, and I changed my plans to go to her house on the next day. I can't say no to good food.
