Day 252-254 Ushuaia

ウシュアイアではアニータにお世話になった。フランス人カップルのアリックスとナンスが紹介してくれた。


Alix and Nans introduced me Anita, who lives in Ushuaia.
 
彼女は昼から夜まで働いており、残念ながらあまりゆっくり話すことはできなかったが、とてもやさしくて気さくな女性で、初対面の我々にカギを預けて家を自由に使わせてくれた。本当にありがたい。お礼にまたごはんを作った。


She was working from noon to night, and we couldn't talk much, but she was sweet and made us feel comfortable. I made some Japanese dishes again.



 

ウシュアイアは何もかも高いので基本的にひきこもっていたが、マウドを誘ってフラグツリーを見に行った。フラグツリーというのはよく写真で見る、常に強風にさらされているために傾いて成長した木のことで、街の中心から海沿いに6kmほど東に走ったところにある。この日はほぼ無風だったがこんなかんじで、この辺りの風がいかにすさまじいかがお分かり頂けるだろう。


I went to see the flag tree. It is a tree which grew sideways because of the crazy wind which is constantly blowing from the west. There was almost no wind this day, but the trees look like this.





世界最南端のスタンプも押してもらった。観光案内所や郵便局でもらえる。全部で10種類以上あるとかないとか。

さて、これからどうしたものか。どうにかして2月中旬までにサンティアゴにたどり着きたいのだけれど。
